Keeping your Baby Cool on Hot Days
If it is your little one’s first summer, surely you will be excited for him to be outdoors. However, it is important to note that babies can get easily overheated in warm weather. Thus, written below are some ideas for dressing him in comfortable attire.
Opt for light coloured clothing that is not too tight. This will help his little body to breathe easier. When picking out the right outfit, go for soft fabrics such as lightweight cotton. Also, remember to skip the socks as these will only make him feel more uncomfortable.
Stock up on plenty of liquids to keep your tiny tot hydrated on hot days. A good indicator of dehydration is when he has more wet diapers than usual. In order to keep his water or formula cold, slid in a frozen gel icepack in the diaper bag. You may also give him a teether that is designed with liquid inside that stays cool to the touch for long periods of time.
Give your baby as much shade as possible when you go out for a walk. Cover his neck and head with a wide-brimmed hat and make sure that the stroller has a sunshade.
